Dads tell me that the bar is doing quite well considering international financial crises (not that I am personally troubled - needing only a regular supply of pigs ears, walks, the occasional G & T, and regular administratuion of flea treatment to keep me happy - not exactly high maintenance).
Actually, Molivos in general has picked up considering the slow start, and global downturn - people are here, enjoying their holidays - eating & drinking, swimming & frolicking as usual.
I'll come to the bar in more detail shortly - home news first - Big P is currently suffering from a badly burnt back having rashly decided to clean the winter carpets on the terrace, in the blazing sun, rather than send them away to HioNati (Snow White) the dry cleaning man!!!!!! He is resting at home tonight with a tub of strawberry flavoured yoghurt smeared liberally over the affected parts!!!! Mr M is currently recovering from a nasty cold (human flu, I call it)... But, as always struggles on valiantly..... You will notice a new photo to the right featuring a number of cats (old Ernie to the right - only Eddie is missing) - you see what I have to put up with? And, I have to ask - why am I not allowed on the kitchen counter?
The bar & its' people:
- Romina & Danny have left - she still gorgeous - he failed techie (can anyone tell my dads how to secure the wi-fi network)? Miss them already!
- The ladies - aaaah - Big P misses them (you know who you are - born in 1944 - don't believe it..........
- Paul & Claire here with mum - Mr M worried about a sudden run on the little bottles of ouzo.....
- Chrissy & Terry - what can we say - class act!!!!! Oh and Big P thanks them for the newspapers.... They gone to Crete now with, I understand, a half-finished bottle of Metaxa secreted in her baggage - shame to waste it!!!!
- The Undertaker & Poledancer, aka The Gravedigger & Miss LA - currently undertaking a survey of the Molly's barperson with best Mojito making-skills - she would be best placed to judge, after all! Big P initially disappointed to be bottom of the league, but mysteriously rose to number one just last evening - could it be a pact, ensuring that he never reveals what the initials in Miss LA actually represent?!
- Unfortunate incident with balcony woman and the falling water - Nicos downstairs not best pleased - and rightly so - she appears to have had no recollection of the incident. The dads are now ever-vigilant about excess drippage.
- The Canadians have gone - what can we say - they bought youth and beauty into our lives, together with raucous singing, and a following cloud of local boys on motorbikes. We bought to them excessive amounts of sangria and Nektarios - a fair enough deal, we believe....
- The Hostys - aaaah, the Hostys - great company, and a depleted bottle of sambuca!!!!
- Local attendees too numerous to mention - but I'll try; Arturo and The Lothario, still low key; Pericles, still looking out for that one special woman (don't worry Peri, an old friend arrives on Saturday); Left of the Terrace, still arriving in a giros fug; Apostoli, still mad; Uncle Nick, still holding court in his own inimitable fashion (and still requesting the same obscure tracks from the sixties); Harilaus, loud; Costa, still good-humoured & quietly confident.
And now a special section devoted only to June, Laura and the sisters..... What can we say? A breath of fresh air - a glamorous addition to the bar, a fragrant presence....... and some dreadful singing..... Actually, I am reliably informed that their ensemble numbers were really rather good. And as for Laura ("no, really, you'll never get me singing") - what a revelation!!!! Seriously ladies, girls, whatever - we miss your zest for life - and look forward to seeing June in August (got a couple of solo numbers lined up for her).
So that's it then - another day - another post - another drachma. By the way Big P fully intending to write 'the book' of Molivos this winter - be afraid............ x x

Hi Molly,
We will certainly get the clippers off Mr P next time we are there or get him a course in dog grooming.
Good to see your owners are keeping busy and and the open mike is going well. Can't remember ear plugs on the menu!!!
Mr P should know better than to "flog" rugs in the sun now he has reached the BIG XX.
Hope Mr M has recovered from his human flu.
Remember Molly keep the gin cold.
Love to all and be back soon.
Ian & Eileen
