They've been full of it all week, the dads - Guido this, Guido that...... Let me explain - A few weeks ago Big P received an e-mail from a guy called Guido Staps - wanting to play his guitar and sing in my bar..... Initially Big P was unsure - the bar's quite small, we've never done this before, & we had no idea if he's any good.... Thankfully Guido was persistent and he referred us to his various video posts on youtube.com.... Well, that was the decision made..... Look at the videos yourselves - he's very good!! The upshot is he played to a reasonably packed bar last Friday, and then again last night. Over 20 songs - really nice, talented guy, and well received by the great and the good of Molyvos, and assorted holidaymakers. Must also thank Simona the lovely girlfriend/Manager/groupie..........
Luckily last night was Vafios Ian's opening... He has an exhibition of paintings in the gallery down in the harbour. Dad's couldn't go as they were working but all reported that his work is wonderful, and quite unique. After the opening most visitors segued into the bar, so it was a very busy night (video footage will be available shortly on youtube if Big P can remember how to do it). Linda came for a while, but has a poorly tooth, bless her. Sylvia and Connie from Petra in attendance, the latter, as usual, surrounded by men (one of 'the boys' apparently is now her official personal fan operator - his wrist was quite limp by the end of the evening). Stuart (who built our actual wooden bar 5 years ago) and June were in, with Dave and the girls (a rare Sally sighting, included).... Charlie (the Family) and Annette also in attendance. The Lothario came later, with Arturo and Tomas and the ever-youthful Lindsey....... Jenifer and family came later, but thankfully she resisted a repeat of her pas de deux with Apostoli the Fridge man, from a few nights ago....... Never fear, though, as Nigel managed a quick partnered dance later in the evening..............
Musn't forget that on Friday Left of the Terrace, Elpida, Manuela and husband came for Guido, and loved him!!!!!
Must also mention that The Lothario last night confirmed his interest in the package recently arrived from Geneva!!!!
Bruno the Dog still hanging around the dads - they're soft touches - he's been given my food, and had a shower on my terrace - let's hope that his real owners realise what a lovely boy he is, and hang on to him..... Otherwise Timbo & Lol can ecpect a furry, brown, wet-nosed, slightly smelly delivery from us!!!!!!
Weather still incredible - 34 degs today, light breeze, and no sign of change......

A Few Drops of Rain!!!
Finally - a few drops of rain last night, and the wind has sucked the humidity from the air, finally..... Really, it's been the muggiest Summer ever - I had to have two haircuts instead of my customary one!!! The first day of September and it's warm, sunny, and fresh and wonderful...........
First things first, I understand from Mr M and Big P that there was some serious face eating occuring in the bar last night - Big Nik from the coastguard is clearly loving his lovely girlfriend (she who loves MacArthur's Park & U2). Marika and Maria were scandalized, bless 'em - they had to imbibe a couple of extra voddies and diet coke.......
The Lovely Sofia from downstairs came for her customary small beer - my dads think she'd be perfect for the Lothario - but currently he's hard to pin down - it seems there's a lovely lady from overseas coming to visit shortly - maybe for the Big Birthday on September 17th (mental note to dads - they must order that life-size cardboard cutout of Fergie asap)?!
Dad's had a nice night out with the Goddess, and Timbo and Lol last week..... well the company was grand, but the meal was maybe not the best...... what kind of a chicken has wings like that is what we want to know....? Nick the Knife and the lovely Maria joined them later on (it's true, she seems younger every year)........ Nick and The Goddess bonded over the remains of the meal, and a mutual respect for 'the good old days'....... Also present were chanteuse Ingrid, and he of the big organ, her husband Gerald - from Holland - obviously the 'organ' reference applies to his keyboard skills...... Truly lovely people.....
Our Lovely Janet's having a nice time with nephew Stephen and his beautiful lady, and so looking forward to an imminent arrival from Geneva...
I must just mention - great news - the puppy's gone!!!! Have to admit that whilst I'm obviously pleased that the little one's found a nice home in Denmark, I'm also happy that one of the main contenders for my crown as official 'cutest dog in Molivos' is now out of the picture!!
Nice to hear that lots of new local chaps coming into the bar these days - the family from the art shop in Tropicana Square - Left of the Terrace bought in a new friend from the town hall, with a shared love for the sixties, the stones, etc.... Of course Arturo still sits in the corner.......... soeone told me he's been inTurkey recently........................
Will write again soon with news of Lily's lump, Whitney's bird, and of course, Angie's coming soon................... oh, and there's live music in the bar Friday night x

Fire, Gridlock & a Bite on the bum!
Oh what a night! I didn't see the fire myself (I was home that night with Mill, Lil & a rather tasty greasy bone that I managed to sneak home earlier in the day)! Mr M told me it started mid-evening, and from the harbour seemed to be located close to the Marilena Hotel (scene of some recent salacious goings-on, I hear). From the bar balcony it was difficult to establish direction, but it was clear that it was spreading fast. Lots of people went off to see if they could help including Jan, and Ricky's dad...... June couldn't go as it was feared she might have another fall (she's not known as the 'tripping babysitter' for her close interest in the medicinal qualities of marijuana). Happily, the fire trucks attended quickly, and the fire was contained speedily, without damage to person or property (although someone mentioned that Ricky's dad mentioned something about a broken fingernail).......
Poor Nicky Neptuno from opposite the bar - it's major Greek tourist week, and it seems that the new, large, and clearly designed 'one way' signs are completely invisible to drivers from the Athens area..... Whilst fires raged in the hinterland, drivers fought it out for supremacy in the narrow road between Molly's Bar and Nicky's mannequins.... Sadly on one occasion three dummies came close to losing limbs (the mannequins, that is, not the Athenian drivers). Whilst Nicky raged in the street at the inconsiderate drivers, Big P managed to save the day - when the support was ripped away from beneath the plastic clotheshorses, he firmly clasped their ample, barely-clothed, plastic bosoms!!!! And to cap it all 'staff' complained about an insect bite sustained whilst leaning her slender bottom against the balcony doorframe - oh, what a night indeed.......
Mel & Shaz have provided entertainment this week - and occasionally partaken in the odd litre of Sangria (about one per hour on a good night). Lovely people..... Bob's wowed Big P with his sleight of hand (not a euphemsim - a magic trick). Soo's back, and Lindy Loo is missed..... Fred from Holland is giving the Lothario and Arturo a run for their money, with his easy charm...... Norway x 2, Greece x 2 - how does he do it?
Janet & Jeanette were up for it at the weekend, but sadly left a little early to witness the Molly's Bar International choir ( Norwegian, Dutch, Greenland, English, Greek) murdering Mary Hopkins...... The same night that the naked Greek man came in and danced aimlessly to inappropriate tunes - to clarify - he wasn't actually naked, apparently, but at 1am was clothed only in swimming shorts, barefoot - and I'm told that, sadly, he was no Brad Pitt!!!!!! Still he and friends had a great time with the Rolling Stones, U2 and Amy Winehouse..... Mr M tells me lots of Greek couples are coming this year and really enjoying our varied and innovative music video playlists......... ok, I know, I'm a dog and even I can't keep a straight face!!!!
Big P has become re-acquainted with Libby this year - and her beautiful daughters, and company........ It's been nice to reminisce about 'the old days' (yawn, yawn).... about Communakis, about the little pizza place in the Agora, the bouzoukia in the fields, the Mermaid, some of the old characters.... those were the days, my friends (shut up, Mary).....
Ok, so it's a bad year for most business.... but how wonderful that the mainland Greeks have still come, and provided the atmosphere, and everyone's risen to the occasion, like a bizarre, and admittedly fractious team. When the officials come to check things (how dare they) people still ring 'round and warn each other. It's hot, holidaymakers are happy, and I've just found an old bone I left under the sofa about two weeks ago - life's not so bad. x

A Taxing Month Begins!
So it was Saturday night, about 1am, apparently..... Nutty Dina (she who supplies the tasty treats to the bar - no reflection on her state of mind), ran into the bar from across the road - the tax people were in there...... Cue general panic as receipts were checked on all tables - after all, a visit from the tax police can easily wipe out a couple of night's takings upon discovery of even the smallest discrepancy...... Big P & Mr M very stressed, particularly when the tax people emerged from the newly named (and this year very successful) Sousouro Bar opposite, and sat at our tables out the front as they proceeded to rip into the poor man's books. Big P tells me that Arturo found out they came away virtually unscathed luckily - but fancy coming around at peak time on one of the busiest nights of the years. If I'd been down there I'd have had their ankles!!!
More on Saturday night - the dancing began - led by Miss J (no sparkles this time - classic LBD).... Who new that Timbo & Lol are such movers?
The Dad's friend Theodoros (from Miltilini via Bruxelles) came in alone, showing once again to one and all his uncanny resemblance to Mr George Clooney..... He and Miss J got on like a house on fire, so I'm told.....
Collette & Nadine (sisters, sisters, there were never such devoted....) have departed once again, leaving behind a trail of broken hearts........ Collette promised she was saving herself for Big P, but opted instead for a trip to Eftalou Beach with The Lothario (watching the sunset together at 2am, allegedly)........
Nick the Knife and lovely wife had a romantic tryst on the balcony - if ever two people were meant for each other, even after all these years....... well, that's what she tells him!! The Knife is so much happier now that the house is sold - the canaries will not starve after all!!!
Left of The Terrace and his lovely wife were also in on Saturday night for a blast of Brown Sugar) - nice, normal, funny people - a rarity in Molyvos (including the dads).
Bit of a mistaken identity situation the other night. Mr M tells it like this..... Which handsome young sailor confused the girl with the black hair with the one with the long dress (both gorgeous, and both closely connected to a premiere harbour eaterie)? Shame, apparently, as it all went rather awry, and expectations were dashed......................
A quick word to Mr Tonto and family back home in the UK - whatever they tell you a lot of ouzo was consumed that night, and the dad's were not forcing it down anyone's throat......... By the way - Happy Birthday again Chris, and Petra, and Cor........ too many Leos!!!!! Talking of lions, the lovely June (babysitter who constantly falls over) told me dads about Christian the Lion Cub on Youtube........ we watched it and I swear the sentimental old fools both had tears in their eyes - watch it and weep!!
Quick word to Bolton 13 and Nice Family - Shiraz sales dropped by 95% in the past week........... oh, and I know someone who'd like a pic of Craig in his motorcycle leathers! Really!!
Lily - make sure they all come back - gonna get some Rammstein in for your dad..........
Take care - M x

Strawberry Daquiris & Mojitos!
They've given me another haircut - everyone seems to like it, but frankly I feel naked!!!! Big P did it on a hot and humid morning - I was left shorn and embarrassed, and he finished with my 'champagne' locks plastered to his sweaty arms, legs and forehead....... it wasn't pretty!!!!!
So the Bolton 13 are leaving tomorrow - the dads tell me it's been a pleasure - a nice group of people - the Robs are great fun, and little Sue, and Patrick and Val - but I heard on the grapevine that Little Lil has a thing for Charley............... As for Patrick - every night... 'more Nolans, more Nolans' - it can be quite wearing, apparently!
Ivan and Jane popped over a couple of times - Big P played the Divine Minnie Ripperton for them (it's their tune, apparently) - 26 years - Mr M says she must be a saint..............
Have heard rumours of young Elliott and Lauren hanging around in bars until all hours - but didn't believe it - they seem such nice kids. Also heard about Pam & Craig staying out later this year - I can believe it, as after all he was once leader of his local Hell's Angels chapter, and Pam is still renowned for her pole dancing (don't mention the ping pong balls)!!!!
Went for a walk through the Agora today with my dads, Her Silliness, and the 'cousins' - Harvey and Tady. Tenia from the Blue Fox is looking fabulous, as always - Nick the Knife was lovely to the boys - Betty waved hello........ It's not a great year for Molyvos - it's a shame - the Agora, the Harbour, the beach - it's so beautiful, and people try so hard..............
More soon..... x

Mid-July - Hot Hot Hot!!!
Last night was the busiest night of the summer so far - the harbour area was properly 'buzzing' for the first time this year (the Greeks have arrived) ....... which restaurant did we hear almost lost it totally in the service department (whilst food quality, as ever, remained excellent)???
Dads were so busy that Big P had little time to finish off his customary litre of house white.......
They came home at 4.45am last night, with the following tales.....
I understand that once appropriate adjustments were made, the thing managed just to contain J's capacious bosoms - but sequins, really!! Dads tell me, though, that even such kitsch sparkliness failed to dim her classic beauty & enviable figure!!
Mr T-Shirt failed to impress last night, and will, sadly, be unable to top the one with the missive referring to monkeys and spanking............ what's that all about?
Our Sangria is going well (made to my own special recipe). One lovely couple managed three litres between them - apparently bets were on as to whether the descent downstairs from the toilets might end in disaster, but both carried it off with aplomb.......................
Who was on the boat 'fishing', whilst friend Sean waited patiently (and it seems drunkenly) on the balcony, bonding with Sam's mum?
Isaac, you're a lovely lad - a credit to mum and dad (I don't care what they say, there's nothing wrong with your hair)......... apparently your dad's shirt caused a stir (or rather the pattern looked like something that needed a stir)..........
The Bolton 13 - they've arrived, bless them - and the dads are having to indulge Patrick with his need for regular Nolan hits every night now.......... what fun!
Babis next door to us (he's a half-blind flea beaten old mongrel) tells me that his mum and dad, Maro & Manoli, had a couple of shots at the bar last night - lovely people................. she looked fably bouffanted as per, and he ruggedly handsome................ They sat with lovely restaurant people (my dads' favourites), and a bevy of antipodean beauties.
Meanwhile Mr Dutch model sat whiling away some time with a former flame on the balcony!!! I've been told to mention that another restaurateur, the Divine Miss E, was a stunning vision in white............ happily, though, the 'girls' managed last night to keep conversation above the waistline, unlike the previous night!!!!
Our 'boys' are a little low-key at the moment - Arturo is pensive, and The Lothario is edgy.... But Nicos is back in town and on the Campari Sodas...
New music video clips includes 'the Banana Boat Song' from Beetlejuice.... Candi Staton's Suspicious Minds for John who leaves today, and the rather dodgy Jobim version of One Note Samba - thank God for Youtube. All good fun - more soon - Millie would say hello, but is far to preoccupied snoozing & dribbling on the sofa in front of the fan...........................

Some Like It Hot......
A new month begins, and it seems like Summer has finally started in Molivos.... My dads tell me it's been a slow start - something about a 'credit crunch' (a recession by any other name) in the UK. Of course the football didn't help... Still during the past week the daytime temperature has topped out at around 35 degs - nice breeze, though, and there seem to be more people around. Only yesterday on stinky beach there were tourists - I mean, really!!!!! Big P couldn't swim naked (a relief to us all)!!!!!!!
My bar is doing well - with an ever-changing cast of characters, and our regulars. I understand that the delicious Lynn (so described by The Lothario) is a little tired of being mistaken for me (you'd think she'd be flattered - we are, after all, both gorgeous blondes - although I am, of course, considerably younger).
Just a word to Paul & Sue - everyone else can find the bakery - why can't you?????
Apparently two lots of 'Paul & Sues' at the moment - good fun, and keeping dads out far too late at night...... Derek here at the moment with new woman Dawn - lovely - good fun - but didn't bring any dog treats (something about flea collars for the harbour cats - come on, Derek - priorities)!
Dads tell me that local friends are supporting us well at the moment. The Lothario and Arturo are with us almost every night - The Lothario has provided organic veg to the dads - very impressive and strangely shaped cucumber!! Stratos, who henceforth shall be known as Lovely Chap is in most nights, and Tall Dark and Handsome from the coastguard (only decency prevents me from recounting his recent experience at the hands of......).
The new and exciting owners of Opus opposite had a drink last night - charming all with their sparkling wit and charming repartee!!!!!!! I understand they are great musicians, if not lively raconteurs.........
Miss T, the nanny, is apparently enjoying Congas on a night out, but had a nicer time the other night meeting young tall Nick, and Stelios the Fox - nice boys (congrats Stelios - you're an uncle - oh my God - that makes the delicious Tenia a granny.............).
Gossip? Me? Never! Whose wife was recently scouring the bars looking for errant husband? May be we'll never know.....
Quick hello to Mr M's six ladies from the Marilena - especially the travel agent - isn't Molivos wonderful!!!!!!!
At home all remains the same - too many cats - and Millie is becoming far too porky...... a little more attention and more cheese or biscuits wouldn't go amiss, but on balance life ain't too bad......................

June & Football RIP!
Ok - so we do understand that holidaymakers like it hot, but this June (like last) has been exceptional - what's a furry girl to do with temperatures consistently in excess of 35 degs........ Thank the Lord they don't take me down to the bar in the mornings anymore - poor Lynn has to do most of the morning cleaning - huge compensation comes with permission to listen to Radio 4 'Woman's Hour' whilst sweeping up last night's tobacco mountain (the dad's swear that more tobacco ends up on the floor than inside most roll ups - eh, Arturo?).
Big P had the night off last night, and stayed at home with us (cramped my style a bit, as usually watch a porn channel - all jokes about 'doggy-style' disallowed). He's not been well so Mr M and Lynn stepped into the breach.... Lindy Loo and Sweet Soo are still her for another few days, enjoying the company of various 'old' friends. I understand Mas Que Nada was played last night, which means that the Lothario was in (no names, no pack drill).... Nick 'the knife' regaled all with his fascinating tales - whilst also managing to promote local sales of hunting/fishing knives, leather items & knick-knacks. One day a leather fetishist, with a plaster God/trout complex will walk through his door, and Nick will clean up!!!!
Lindy Loo and Soo are having trouble remembering some Greek names and have assigned nicknames to some of our regulars. Suffice to say 'Richard Gere' aka 'Left of the Terrace' was in last night with his lovely wife........
Not ones to gossip......... But did L & P go home together last night, or go their separate ways? Mr M is saying nothing (probably because he doesn't know).....
A quick Happy Birthday to Linda the baker's wife (sounds like a character from Happy Families card game)..... She had her birthday bash a couple of nights ago - 21 again - and again, and again!!!!
By the way, I've just learnt that no one believes I'm only five years old - the dads are telling people I'm 35 - something about dog/human years. Really, we shouldn't be discussing a lady's age. Now then, where are my fags? Do you think they have doggie botox?
I'll have to go soon as Big P wants to download videos for tonight. Something about Nelson Mandela, Glastonbury, and giving the customers what they want (more bloody Winehouse probably). He keeps saying we should have more contemporary music in the bar and then gets drawn into Youtube nostalgia, ending up with more Suzi Quatro and cheesy TV themes)!!!!!
Oooh just have to mention - quite strong wind this morning (lovely and refreshing) - did notice, though, that Chris' bush was trembling quite vigorously!!!!
Take care all dog lovers x
Big P had the night off last night, and stayed at home with us (cramped my style a bit, as usually watch a porn channel - all jokes about 'doggy-style' disallowed). He's not been well so Mr M and Lynn stepped into the breach.... Lindy Loo and Sweet Soo are still her for another few days, enjoying the company of various 'old' friends. I understand Mas Que Nada was played last night, which means that the Lothario was in (no names, no pack drill).... Very Hot Today!
33 degs today in Molyvos - expected to be up to 36 tomorrow. So Grateful that Big P went to Argos when last in the UK and purchased a dog hair trimmer. OK, so stylistically speaking the dad's just ain't Vidal Sassoon, but at least I don't feel like I'm walking around with a flokati strapped to my back in the hot sun. Millie's answer to the heat is simply to shed hairs around the house, so that in the wind they gather together and float around like tumbleweed in the Wild West!!
Just need to say a quick hello to Ricky dog - I know he's been in the bar when I wasn't there one evening - unmistakable scent - much like his dad, Tom! I've heard he's looking pretty foxy at the moment - Ricky that is, not Tom........
Apparently, the football is playing havoc with Molyvos business at the moment - shame, but nothing to be done. Apparently my bar is a haven for those not wishing to watch.... Strange how some are drawn to a bar that consistently plays video clips of Donny and Marie Osmond, and the opening titles to Dallas and Dynasty... No accounting for taste. I understand that my dads' friend Janet was recently nigh on orgasmic to hear MATT Monroe warbling To Russia With Love - no accounting for taste!! Still it easy to get carried away on a half glass of Rose with water!!!
Irini and family are currently here - haven't seen her myself (recent nights I've been glued to Chelsea's decline into drug hell on 'Enders). I believe she's looking fabulous. Certainly in strong voice - I understand The Adam Ant classic 'Stand and Deliver' has rarely sounded quite so......... forceful!!!
We've been poring over Youtube, trying to accede to popular customer request for new videos - found a copy of Creedence Clearwater Revival performing 'Bad Moon Rising'.. so dads are hoping nice Dutch couple come back in sometime soon to watch this 'classic' performance. And I really feel that I should put it on record young Nick (you know who you are) - I'm the one that vetoed Jethro Tull. I mean - we do have a reputation!!!!

It's June Already!
Ok - so it's taken a while to get down to this blogging malarkey- sorry - imagine if you had furry paws - it ain't easy!! Well - the bar's been doing well - with Lynn's able assistance, of course. I mean, Paul & Martin do their best, but they've needed a woman's touch around the place......... By the way, her salsa moves are already becoming legendary...... Last night they tell me there was much dancing - salsa, disco...... Jan, Anita, Dolph, Nigel...... and even Lambros from downstairs! Mr Bamboukos and Lakis were on the balcony offering appropriate encouragement I understand...... When the dancing started Paul and Martin apparently faded into the background (Paul was acting as impromptu DJ, he says - probably just counting the takings - that's my Dad)! The weather is now finally glorious - a bit hot sometimes when I'm out on walks with Silly Milly - but usually one or other of the dads will take me down to 'Stinky Beach' (more of that another time) so we get a bit of a cooling soak.... Two days ago we had an afternoon thunderstorm - I really couldn't care about the thunder - but the 'Silly' dog was shaking like a real wuss, and hiding under the bed!!!!!!! There are still too many cats in this place - Sid's ok, no trouble, and Rita - even Eddie (he's hardly ever home). Whitney's a good mate - she likes to come on dog walks with us. But Phoebe's eaten too many plants for my liking (getting us all into trouble). The newest one is in big trouble having mistaken Paul's lip for a place to rest her claws. I understand he's trying to promote the resulting scar as something 'hard' and 'macho' - but people draw their own conclusions upon hearing the blemish resulted from the actions of a cat called Lily...................................
